High School student has won a scholarship worth up to $70,000 for her work getting students to stop using disposable plastic water bottles

EDMONTON – A McNally High School student has won a scholarship worth up to $70,000 for her work getting students to stop using disposable plastic water bottles.

Claire Edwards, 17, said she applied for the scholarship but didn’t expect to win the award that recognizes high school students who make a meaningful and lasting difference in their communities. She was one of 20 students chosen from across Canada to receive the TD Scholarship for Community Leadership.
